From 30 to 31 October 2025, the University of Rwanda (UR) hosted an international research conference on Trade, Development, Innovation, and Commercialization to facilitate knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration among academia, industry, and policymakers.

Organized by University of Rwanda’s World Trade Organization (WTO), Rwanda Program in collaboration with AeTrade Group, this conference attracted approximately 200 participants and 50 exhibitors, representing SMEs, student-led innovations, and startups.

The International Research Conference on Trade and Development was held on December 5-6, 2024, at the Nobleza Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. The conference brought together scholars, policymakers, industry leaders, and development practitioners to discuss key issues related to global trade and its impact on economic development.

The University of Rwanda (UR), College of Business and Economics in line with the collaboration agreement with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to implement the World Trade Organisation Chairs Programme (WCP) Phase III in Rwanda organized an official launch event on 08/06/2023 at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV).
The aim of the event is to increase the awareness of the WTO Chairs Programme project in Rwanda towards enhancing knowledge and understanding of the trading system among academics and policy makers.
